I spent all day sewing another frock (I haven't been this motivated in years!) and only when I'd finished did I realise I'd blanked on David's parents coming for lunch tomorrow. It was quite annoying to switch from intense task-focus to cleaning up downstairs.
I really want a sewing space that isn't the end of the dining table. I know that I could work up in the attic/spare room - where I have a desk and where all my fabrics are stored - but it gets so hot up there in the summer (even with the air-con, even with the added fan) that being up there long enough to grab some fabric is a problem, let alone sewing anything up there. Also there is no dvd player up there, which seems to be a large part of my sewing experience.
I had high hopes of the first floor landing, but the table didn't fit in the alcove space and then things just got a bit problematic. I don't think there really is a solution at the moment, although maybe there is and I'm just thinking about it the wrong way.
Tomorrow morning we're getting up at 4am to watch the AB's play Ireland. I'm so good with the sleep deprivation, oh yeah.
And here, a propos of nothing, is the pirate ship we saw the last time we took the Manly ferry:
Yaaarrr.
